At this point people who have no true emotions for the Kony movement are the equivalent of those who post #replacebandnameswithbieber because either way A.) I’m not going to read it
B.) no one is really going to respect it. I just want your opinion of how you think we should tackle the Kony issue in the most non aggressive and diplomatic way possible.
Americans being Blind to these issues is exactly what I’m talking about. People in America don’t even know of how truly horrible things in Africa are. Not just because of poverty but because of the guerilla rebel forces. Do I want a more educated America? Of course but the point is is that everyone is still blind tell me how would you first approach tryin to stop Kony? Take it to congress ad what send us to war? Take it to the UN? You’re a little late because the UN has been keeping committees about this for more years than you have known where Africa is. I support being able to stop him trust me I’m not trying to ignore the situation but you have to understand just posting it on twitter and putting up posters will not encourage congress to “stop” Kony because right now America is being ignorant. You can say stop Kony all you want but until you actually devote more than a retweet or something along those lines than you aren’t a true supporter of the cause.
Yes the UN has made many trips to Uganda and tried to set policies but it’s shown that only liberates the rebels more so I think until we are a stronger economic force and able to occupy Uganda once war with Afghanistan ends then by all means we should but as of now the only thing we can do is support the UN’s decisions and at most send support to Uganda’s diplomats and security but other than that tho isn’t the time to take part in their crisis. And I could only imagine what Facebook looks like I haven’t gone done in several days
I wouldn’t have a problem with everyone spreading the word of this man. But when no one has a clue on the direction they’re going in then I find that a bit discerning. This issue has been discussed for 20 years by politicians and when America is finally getting out of devastating wars and slowly recovering I doubt it is
Really in our politicians best interest o devote time and lots of money to stop Kony which they have tried numerous times
In the past
Whenever someone says stop Kony I just want them to answer these questions: If the Ugandan army couldn’t do it for twenty years, the Ugandan army funded by the CIA couldn’t stop him in 3 years, what makes you think that posting on a social networking site posting #Kony2012 is going to be able spontaneously stop him? Asking this is literally asking to send us to another war. I don’t know about you but I’m tired of war and I’m tired of greater hatred towards America. But I’ll just wait a week or two when this whole thing blows over and anyone reading this knows that it will. And it’s not going to blow over because it IS over but because of the lack of actual care that everyone has.
I don’t agree with the movement mainly because its just a trend for everyone, no one is truly devoting more time than it takes to tweet. People seem to only care when they don’t have to turn on CNN or read a newspaper and just see a hashtag. It’s not fair to the Africans who haven’t even been discussed in America. Invisible Children is generating money to do something great although in 2005 they generated 6 million dollars and 3 million of that was used to pay salaries and transportation. In my opinion Invisible Children is not doin it’s job. People don’t have an approach to “Stop Kony” they’re just preaching it.
What the fuck is wrong with all of you and you’re stop Kony bullshit. This is what’s horrible about social media: one video goes viral and the whole teenage population thinks it deserves absolute national focus. Have any of you “advocates” even heard of the civil wars of Sudan, Somalia, Libya, an Egypt. Shit none of you care about Syria but when a hashtag sweeps across twitter its the biggest fucking deal. None of you actually care about Kony get over yourselves, do you even realize that ‘disarming Kony and disbanding his rebellion’ is the same thing as going to war? You try to advocate peace and all you are is redundant. I bet no one has even said one word about what happened in Rwanda or in the Congo but hey once a video hits YouTube the world needs to check every nook and cranny of the Ugandan landscape to kill Kony and his army. I’m embarrassed to be associated with these people I just don’t understand how some of you people think
For some reason I love Arabian architecture idk
